NOTE: JEEP tours are available all of the year except during the height of Ski Season due to road conditions and closures. Please feel free to book any tour from early October onwards. Bright - Lake Buffalo - Dandongadale - Abbeyard - Selwyn Creek - Buckland Valley - Bright: (experience the new growth after the 2019/20 bushfires on this epic all day journey) All day return $950 We chug out of Bright and head to Myrtleford where, we stop for a coffee, toastie and load up on munchie supplies before heading up the Lake Buffalo valley. It’s not long past the lake when we start to really see the scarring of the recent bushfires. You’ll pass the site of the only house to be lost in the fires as we leave the pavement and hit the dirt. And it’s on the dirt we’ll stay for the next 6+hrs. Your journey will take you through forests of fury trees… or hairy trees – we’ll let you decide. Our drive sees that we hug the Buffalo River for most of the valley as we slowly gain altitude. After a while we leave high mountain pastures and climb on to a ridgeline which provides awesome views over Mt Speculation and The Cross Cut Saw. It is here that we leave the well maintained dirt road and head in to some more complicated terrain. Those on motorcycles will branch off on to a ‘less well maintained’ dirt road but still an easily doable track whilst those choosing the Jeep option are in for a bit of climbing and gnarly descents. The motos make their back on to the Buffalo River Road and head back out the way they came and enjoy all the wonderous views in reverse. The Jeep’ers snake and wiggle their way across to the Buckland Valley and join the Buckland Valley - Selwyn Creek itinerary for the drive back in to Bright. If mountain biking is your thing we can accommodate you but it will be a really (really) long day! We can work with you to map a ‘hop on - hop off’ arrangement where you drive a bit, ride a bit, drive a bit and ride some more.
