NOTE: JEEP tours are available all of the year except during the height of Ski Season due to road conditions and closures. Please feel free to book any tour from early October onwards. Bright - Stony Tops Track - Mount Feathertop: 4hrs return $450 A very pleasant and enjoyable 4WD discovery tour as you turn off the Great Alpine Rd and wind your way up and in to the snow gums with great vantage views of the North East face of the famous Mount Feathertop. A great place for a cup of coffee, tea, or picnic before you follow the same track back down. If you feel adventurous you can trek the 1.5hrs up to the Summit from this point. It’s not to be attempted unless you are fit and well equipped. Allow up to 2hrs each way for the walk and know that the track may have snow cover during winter. Those choosing to MTB, the ride down is awesome. Following the same track as you did on the way up it’s almost impossible to get lost. With the exception of a few ‘wee pinches you’ll have gravity on your side all the way in to Bright. The track itself is not technical however you do need ‘better than beginner’ bike handling skills. Remembering of course, if you think you’ve bitten off a bit too much you can always jump back in the Jeep. Once off Stony Tops Track (where the Jeep leaves you and heads back in to Bright) you’ll have to negotiate a small creek crossing but then it’s a cruisy flat ride on dirt all the way home. Those choosing to make the trek out to Mt Feathertop can do so at an additional cost. Those on a guided motorcycle tour please know the final 4kms is extremely steep and rocky and suitable only for experienced riders.
